Tenere A Special Tree in The Sahara Inspired from a true story of a tree in the Sahara!

Introducing ‘Tenere: A Special Tree in the Sahara Desert’ – a captivating story inspired from a true story. Tenere is a unique tree that stands alone in the heart of the Sahara. Tenere wonders who planted her in the middle of the desert, and how she ended up here, surrounded by nothing but sand.

The story of Tenere is a unique and inspiring one that teaches children about resilience, belongingness, difference, diversity, and sustainability in a relatable and engaging way.

My Story

Hi! My name is Sahabia Ahmed and I’m excited to share my journey with you. I was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and immigrated to the United States after my high school graduation. Currently, I work in a Fortune 500 regulated utility focused in leading resource planning (such as renewables, hydrogen/gas, battery investment), decarbonization studies, and creating net zero pathways.

In addition, I serve as a board member and Vice President of Finance for the United Nations Association Houston Chapter, where I work towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals and advocating for positive change.

Growing up, I discovered that I have many passions and hobbies, along with a natural curiosity and drive to try new things. My goal in life is to build meaningful connections, learn about people’s journeys, surround myself with creativity, and explore the world through travel, new experiences, and impactful projects.

Through this website, I hope to share my journey with you and involve you in my experiences. I want to create lifelong connections and inspire each other as we navigate the world together. So come along for the ride and let’s see where our paths take us!

Tenere – A special tree in the Sahara is an engaging and imaginative children’s book with colorful illustrations and a positive message. It’s a great addition to any child’s bookshelf and highly recommended. It also has a great cause of planting trees.

Tenere is a great story about a tree in the Sahara desert. I think children, and maybe adults, as I did, find it catavating. The illustrations are wonderful and the story flows from page to page. I have read it three times, and each time I enjoyed it more. Will make sure my grand children read it.
